Hadley Park House, an award-winning, four-star hotel and wedding and events venue, has been brought to market on a freehold basis with a guide price of £2,350,000.
The Grade II Georgian manor, located in Telford, Shropshire, enjoys a mix of corporate, leisure, and wedding reception trade due to its accessible location just outside of Telford.
The estate features 22 en-suite bedrooms in the main house, a number of event spaces, and a “charming” exterior which is surrounded by two acres of landscaped gardens. It also features the AA Rosette Conservatory Restaurant.
The venue has built an “enviable reputation” as the West Midlands premier wedding venue, having been voted as ‘Best Wedding Venue (Historic Building) for 2021’ for the region in The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA).
Leisure guests are also attracted by the nearby historic market town of Shrewsbury, Weston Park, and the Ironbridge Gorge Museum, which features the Blists Hill Victorian Town and a range of family activities.
The hotel has been owned by Mark and Geraldine Lewis since 2003. The pair have restored and invested in the property over the years, retaining its character and many original features which date back to the 18th Century, including the wide wooden staircase, large sash windows and oak panelled lounge.
In 2010, a sympathetic extension to the original house was officially opened by Lord Digby Jones of Birmingham and incorporates the West Wing bedrooms and popular function room, The Mulliner Suite.
Mark said: “Having worked in the hospitality sector for the last 40 years and at Hadley Park for the last 17 of those, we have now taken the decision to step up back and enjoy semi-retirement while we still can.
“Since we have been at Hadley Park, we have realised our vision of establishing the business as a top class, four-star hotel and premier weddings and events venue but the time has come to pass the reins to someone who is equally as passionate and enthusiastic, to continue to develop the business.”
Joshua Sullivan, senior business agent in Christie & Co’s hospitality team is handling the sale and said: “Hadley Park House is a well-regarded West Midlands hotel and wedding venue and despite the property being closed at present due to COVID-19 restrictions, the business boasts a strong pipeline of wedding bookings for 2021 and 2022, pointing to its popularity in the region.
“The sale presents a unique opportunity for investors and operators alike to acquire both an attractive property and a hugely successful business with excellent profits.”
